Zachary Cameron is the Founder of Valo Macro, a research firm focused on understanding how the structure of financial markets shapes risk, capital flows, and investment outcomes.

His research examines how interactions between assets influence market behavior across different structural regimes. Drawing on ideas from macroeconomics, market microstructure, and complex systems, his work studies how financial market structure governs the transmission of risk through the system.

Zachary holds a degree in International Relations from Loyola Marymount University, where he was awarded Scholar of the Year, and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. While at LSE, he won a university wide monetary policy competition judged by former Bank of England Governor Sir Charles Bean.

His expertise in monetary conditions and funding market stress has led him to advise a number of leading macro investment firms. Notably, he was among the few analysts to highlight rising systemic stress within the banking system and funding markets prior to the onset of the regional banking crisis in early 2023, at a time when prevailing views characterized liquidity conditions as stable.

Zachary founded Valo Macro to provide investors and advisors with clearer insight into how financial market structure evolves, and how those structural changes influence portfolio risk and investment outcomes.
