Zachary Cameron is the Founder of  Valo Macro, a macroeconomic research firm focused on financial plumbing, liquidity dynamics, and systemic risk.

His work centers on diagnosing the state of the financial system, specifically how balance sheet constraints, funding markets, and liquidity conditions interact to shape market behavior across regimes. This plumbing first approach is designed to identify when markets shift from absorbing risk to amplifying it.

Zachary holds a degree in International Relations from Loyola Marymount University, where he was awarded Scholar of the Year, and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics. While at LSE, he won a university wide monetary policy competition judged by former Bank of England Governor Sir Charles Bean.

His expertise in monetary conditions and funding market stress has led him to advise a number of leading macro investment firms. Notably, he was among the few analysts to highlight rising systemic and balance sheet stress prior to the onset of the regional banking crisis in early 2023, at a time when prevailing views characterized liquidity conditions as stable.

Zachary founded Valo Macro to provide investors and advisors with clearer insight into when the financial systems becomes fragile, and to help navigate markets when risk becomes nonlinear and traditional signals fail.
